Databricks Add-in for Excel

The Databricks Add-In for Excel brings the full power of the Lakehouse to your spreadsheets. It bridges the gap between data engineering and business logic, allowing users to interact with Unity Catalog tables and Metric Views without writing SQL or managing complex database drivers.

The add-in supports the core workflows business teams rely on:

• Seamless Discovery: Browse Unity Catalog tables and Metric Views directly in the Excel sidebar.
• Business Semantics in Excel: Build Excel pivot tables powered by governed Unity Catalog Metric Views.
• No-SQL Filtering: Use an intuitive UI to filter and refine data without manual queries.
• Reuse Existing Work: Access and run existing Databricks Workspace queries with one click.
• Advanced Data Operations: Extend analytics by running custom SQL to call stored procedures or invoke AI functions directly from Excel.

Availability: The Databricks Add-In for Excel is currently available to all customers across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Technical prerequisites for using the add-in:

• Customers must manually configure the Databricks workspaces they want to connect to the add-in via the Microsoft admin center.
