DVG DocGen — Document Generation for Microsoft Dynamics 365

DVG DocGen is a configurable document-generation solution built for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse platforms. It enables organizations to generate rich, professionally formatted Microsoft documents by dynamically combining data from multiple Dataverse tables and related records.

DocGen uses a template-driven approach, where document templates are configured for specific Dataverse tables. Each template defines which fields, related entities, and child records are available for inclusion in the generated document. At runtime, DocGen retrieves data from the primary record and its associated tables, then merges it into a structured, production-ready document.

The application supports user-prompted data capture, allowing users to provide document-specific inputs—such as narrative text, selections, or options—which are incorporated into the final output. Related child records can be listed in the DocGen interface, allowing users to include or exclude them when generating the document selectively.

DVG DocGen supports advanced document composition features, including the insertion of tables, lists, footnotes, and complex text sections sourced from multiple data entities. Generated content can be styled dynamically, with control over fonts, colors, and formatting to ensure consistency with organizational branding and document standards.

Conditional placeholders and logic allow content to be inserted or omitted based on data values or user selections, enabling adaptive documents that reflect business rules without requiring manual editing.
