Why an Extension Is Necessary?
Many companies in Germany are now required to support ZUGFeRD or XRechnung.
However, Dynamics 365 Finance has technical limitations:
- Electronic Reporting generates XML and PDF separately → not ZUGFeRD-compliant
- SSRS generates only PDF → no XML, not machine-readable
- No native support for PDF/A-3 + CII XML
- No option to combine PDF + XML within SSRS
As a result, companies using SSRS-based invoices cannot achieve full e-invoicing compliance.
In Dynamics 365 Finance, there are two standard output methods:
- Electronic Reporting (ER) → generates XML / XRechnung
(machine-readable, no PDF) SSRS Reporting → generates PDF
(human-readable, but without XML)
These standard formats do not meet ZUGFeRD requirements, as Microsoft does not provide native support for combining PDF + XML.
Available Approaches:

- Microsoft Standard → No ZUGFeRD support
- Dynamity Add-on → ZUGFeRD directly from SSRS (unique solution)
ER-Consult → ZUGFeRD via Electronic Reporting (ER)
