ThePoint MyApp Portal
door ThePoint
ThePoint MyApp Portal is a web part that embeds each user's personalised application launcher.
Every user sees the same applications they would find at myapps.microsoft.com, surfaced directly on your SharePoint intranet so they never have to leave the page. ThePoint MyApp Portal reads each user's enterprise application assignments from Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) via the Microsoft Graph API and dynamically renders only the apps that are actually assigned to them.
Unlike an admin-curated launcher, ThePoint MyApp Portal is fully dynamic: add or remove an application assignment in Microsoft Entra ID and it is reflected in the web part on the user's next page load. No SharePoint list management, no re-publishing pages.
What's new in 1.1:
- Cards view, now the default: each app is a card with its logo, name and an optional short description, in a grid that fits the space available
- Backgrounds: none, subtle, accent tint, a custom colour or a two-colour gradient, with adjustable corner radius and padding
- Card and button colour with an optional shadow, so the web part matches your intranet's design
- Full-width sections: the background runs edge to edge while the apps stay centred at a width you choose
- Responsive strip: shows as many apps as fit across the page and adds pages only when needed, with page buttons and swipe on touch screens
- Accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA: real links (so middle-click, Ctrl+click and copy link work), full keyboard support, clear focus rings, screen reader announcements for search results and page changes, reduced motion and Windows high contrast support
- Automatic contrast checking: if a chosen colour is too light or too dark to read, the nearest readable shade is used instead
Key features:
- Personalised, per-user app list driven by Entra ID assignments
- Optional Microsoft 365 apps such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and OneDrive alongside assigned apps
- Four views: cards, grid, compact and a paged strip of tiles or cards
- Instant search across app titles, descriptions and categories
- Favourites (star apps to keep them first) and hide-from-view, saved for each user
- Optional category grouping
- Configurable tile shape, heading level, font, accent colour (site theme or custom), background and card colours
- Open apps in a new tab or the same tab
- Keyword exclusions to hide infrastructure or service apps, and an optional limit on the number of apps shown
- Mobile-ready responsive design, in normal and full-width sections
Components included: this package contains a single SharePoint Framework (SPFx) client-side web part, provisioned with one capability - SharePoint Web Part. It does not include any Microsoft Teams components or app. The web part requests the Microsoft Graph Directory.Read.All permission to read the signed-in user's enterprise application assignments so the launcher has data to display.
Licensing: the app runs in trial mode without a licence key, and a trial banner appears above the web part. The banner remains until a valid paid licence key is entered, which removes it and unlocks full functionality.
