VISTA API is a powerful georeferencing solution designed for organisations working with site plans and geospatial data across Great Britain. It automatically georeferences site plan images against the British National Grid (BNG), enabling seamless integration with GIS platforms, planning systems, and mapping workflows.
Who is it for: Ideal for local authorities, planning departments, construction firms, utility companies, and any organisation that works with site plans and requires accurate geospatial alignment.
What it does: VISTA API locates a raster map image of a site within GB and transforms it to align precisely with the British National Grid. It works best for plans originally created with large-scale mapping that are approximately north-oriented, and can intelligently ignore annotations and overlays not part of the original mapping.
Key requirements: A Search Rectangle must be provided within which the site plan is expected to be found. The largest effective search rectangle is 5km x 5km.
