SiTi (siti-tools) is an open-source, command-line–based utility used to calculate SI/TI metrics (Spatial Information and Temporal Information) for video analysis. It helps engineers and QA teams evaluate video complexity by measuring spatial detail and temporal motion intensity, which is useful in video encoding, broadcasting workflows, and media quality validation.
Features of SiTi (siti-tools):
- CLI tool to compute Spatial Information (SI) and Temporal Information (TI) metrics.
- Helps analyze motion and detail complexity in video content.
- Supports media workflow validation for encoding, streaming, and broadcasting pipelines.
- Works using Python scientific libraries and FFmpeg-based video handling.
- Runs locally on Linux with no web interface dependency.
To check the installed version of SiTi (siti-tools), run the following commands:
$ source /opt/siti-venv/bin/activate $ siti-tools --version $ which siti-toolsDisclaimer: SiTi (siti-tools) is open-source software distributed under applicable licenses and is provided “as is.” Users are responsible for validating input media, maintaining Python dependencies safely, and following best practices for system and media workflow security.
