Proxia for Excel masking

Proxia helps you partially mask sensitive cell values before sharing your screen in Excel. Scan the active worksheet or selected cells, review detected values, then mask them explicitly. Prepare column masking and review it before applying; retain the header when that option is enabled.

Reveal a cell or reveal saved masks across the workbook, including after saving and reopening. Formula cells and dynamic-array spill results are refused for masking and may remain sensitive. When verification is unavailable or uncertain, the add-in refuses writes.

On supported desktop hosts, export a copy to share and inspect its reported checks and warnings. Export can be unavailable, refused or report unverified coverage. You can also make masking permanent by explicitly confirming deletion of retained originals for the whole workbook.

Inspection runs locally through WebAssembly. The add-in does not send workbook cell contents to Fabindias for analysis. No Proxia account, subscription or licence token is required.

Important: reversible masking is for screen sharing, not file redaction. Original values and formats are stored UNENCRYPTED in workbook settings and travel with saved files, shared copies, cloud storage and co-authoring. A recipient can recover retained originals. Do not share a reversibly masked workbook as if it were redacted. Read warnings and inspect exported or finalized copies; no complete-redaction guarantee. Detection can miss data or produce false positives. Edits, sorting, moved cells or duplicate masks can cause refusal; two simultaneous panes are not a supported editing workflow.

Requires Excel desktop or web with ExcelApi 1.12. Exported file bytes may be unavailable on the web. Mac acceptance has targeted evidence; native English/Dutch, Windows/Undo, web/touch and broader host tests remain incomplete. English, French and Dutch. Publisher: Fabindias.
