Autocomplete Filter (BI-Champ Suite)

This slicer brings autocompletion to Power BI, letting you quickly search for values in text fields. Autocompletion allows users to type a few letters of an identifier, name, code, phrase, or other text—and the visual predicts matching values so they can be instantly selected as report filters.

By default, searches use contains (partial) matching, but you can also switch to exact matching when precision matters. Users may combine multiple search terms, mix exact and partial matching, leverage fuzzy matching, and freely copy-and-paste values into and out of the slicer. With 100+ configurable settings for behavior and formatting, this slicer helps you search efficiently, especially when working with identifiers, codes, names, and other modest-length text fields.

You can filter using multiple terms (exact or wildcard), enable fuzzy matching, view secondary measures in the lookup list, and much more.

There are a wide variety of options, including:

• Have the visual complete what you’ve started typing based on detected matches
• Enter one or more search terms using contains (default) or exact matching
• Options for case-insensitive, diacritic-insensitive, punctuation-insensitive, whitespace-insensitive, and spelling-insensitive (fuzzy) matching
• Select from multiple fuzzy matching algorithms
• Control where the suggestion list appears
• Automatically detect how many characters are needed before predictions begin
• Display secondary values in the suggestion list to support more confident selection (e.g., additional descriptive fields)
• Expand matches: convert partial-match text into actual matched values, which can be exported (comma- or line-delimited) and pasted into Excel, email, or other tools
• Paste lists of values directly from Excel, email, or other sources into the filter area
• When multiple selections are enabled, display chosen values as text or as pills
• Tool-tip and drill-through support for exact-match pills
• Optional utility buttons: reset, include/exclude blanks, copy filtered values, and more
• Handles large datasets efficiently, with loading feedback
• Extensive font and color override options
• Control over sorting behaviors
• Ability (with caveats) to overlay the suggestion list over other visuals on a page
• Multi-language support
