A PDF document generation suite using LaTeX

PlatyPrint is a fully integrated document generation solution for Microsoft Dataverse and the Power Platform that enables the creation of high-quality PDF documents using LaTeX. It provides a modern, in-app authoring experience with a Monaco-based preview editor offering side-by-side editing and live document preview, as well as a dedicated document generation pane for managing templates and outputs.

PlatyPrint supports dynamic document content through embedded XTL (Xrm-Templating-Language) expressions, allowing templates to be populated directly from Dataverse data. Document generation is exposed via a Custom API that can be invoked from the in-built document generation sidepane that can be opened via a ribbon button, Dataverse code, plugins, or Power Automate flows, making PlatyPrint suitable for both interactive and automated scenarios.

PDF rendering is performed by a containerized LaTeX engine that can be self-hosted in the customer’s Azure environment or consumed as a managed service provided by Ianua Software.


PlatyPrint is designed for Power Platform makers, Dataverse developers, solution architects, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) who need robust, customizable document generation as part of their business solutions. It is particularly well suited for organizations that require professional-grade PDF output and tight integration with Dataverse and Power Automate workflows.

Its container-based architecture allows customers to retain full data sovereignty by hosting the document rendering service within their own Azure environment, ensuring sensitive data never leaves their control.
