In the Czech Republic, an ‘unreliable VAT payer’ is a special status assigned by the tax authority to businesses that repeatedly fail to meet their VAT obligations. Once a company is listed as unreliable, its partners face increased risks and in some cases may become jointly liable for VAT on transactions with that entity.

The Czech tax administration also provides an online public portal where businesses can quickly check the latest status of any entity and verify whether it is listed as an unreliable VAT payer.
