Grant Management System (GMS)
The Grant Management System (GMS) by CimpleSoft is an enterprise-grade, end-to-end grant management solution built natively on the Microsoft Power Platform. By bringing together Power Pages, Model-Driven Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Dataverse, Azure, and Dynamics 365 Business Central, GMS manages the complete grant lifecycle - from application submission and evaluation through disbursement, financial processing, and reconciliation - with transparency, intelligent automation, and enterprise-level data integrity.
Three Integrated Modules, One Unified Platform
GMS delivers three seamlessly connected components:
Applicant Portal: A branded, responsive Power Pages portal where applicants can discover funding opportunities, submit applications, upload supporting documents, track application status, and manage post-award milestones.
Back Office: A Dynamics 365 Model-Driven App that enables program officers, reviewers, and grant managers to evaluate applications, complete assessments, manage approvals, assign work queues, track awards, and oversee grant disbursements through structured business process flows.
Admin Center: A centralized control hub for configuring grant programs, managing funding sources and budgets, defining eligibility and evaluation criteria, maintaining checklists, and monitoring overall portfolio performance.
Configurable Content and Feedback Tools
GMS includes a built-in FAQ management system and a dynamic survey engine, giving administrators control over applicant-facing content without requiring developer involvement. FAQs can be categorized and published by program, while surveys can be configured to capture applicant demographics, eligibility information, program feedback, or other organization-specific data. All responses are stored securely in Microsoft Dataverse and are available for real-time reporting and analysis.
Deep Microsoft Ecosystem Integration
All three modules operate on a unified Microsoft Dataverse foundation, with Power Automate supporting automated notifications, status updates, approval workflows, scoring processes, and document management.
Integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central extends GMS into financial management. Approved grant disbursements and relevant financial information, including amounts, posting dates, programs, funding sources, and transaction references, can be transferred to Business Central for financial validation and general ledger posting. Business Central serves as the financial system of record, while posting status, processed amounts, and transaction references are synchronized back to GMS.
This connected process reduces duplicate data entry, strengthens financial controls, and provides a complete audit trail from grant approval through financial posting. Power BI supports reconciliation between approved GMS disbursements and Business Central ledger transactions, helping finance and grant teams identify matched, pending, failed, or unmatched transactions.
