Jenkins® on Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS
by Belinda CZ s.r.o.
Ready-to-use automation server providing Jenkins 2.541 and Java 21 on a Ubuntu 24.04 LTS image optimized for DevOps workflows.
This offer Jenkins® on Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS provides a production-ready CI/CD automation environment featuring Jenkins and Java. This preconfigured virtual machine is optimized for high-performance orchestration, allowing teams to skip the complexities of manual installation and version-matching between the Jenkins core and its Java runtime. By leveraging Java 21, the environment benefits from modern garbage collection and improved memory management, ensuring that your automation controller remains stable and responsive even under heavy build loads.
This solution is designed for DevOps engineers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and software development teams who need to establish a secure, scalable, and maintainable automation hub for building, testing, and deploying applications within the Azure ecosystem.
Typical use cases include:
- Orchestrating complex CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications
- Managing automated testing suites across distributed build agents
- Integrating with Azure Repos, GitHub, and GitLab for seamless source control triggers
- Facilitating continuous delivery to Azure App Service, AKS, or Virtual Machines
- Standardizing build environments to ensure "it works on my machine" consistency across the organization
Key features:
- Jenkins pre-installed and configured as a systemd service
- Java (OpenJDK) providing the latest Long-Term Support performance and security enhancements
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base for a secure, modern, and long-term supported Linux foundation
- Pre-tuned for Azure, allowing for rapid deployment and immediate access to the Jenkins web interface
- Minimal OS footprint to reduce the attack surface and operational overhead
- Ready for the Azure Jenkins Plugin ecosystem to manage Azure resources directly from your pipelines
Technical details:
- The Jenkins service is configured to run on the default port:
8080 - Setup Wizard: After deployment, you must complete the installation by walking through the Setup Wizard. This is accessible in your browser at
http://<Public-IP>:8080(orhttp://localhost:8080if using SSH tunneling). - To retrieve the initial administrator password, run:
sudo cat /var/lib/jenkins/secrets/initialAdminPassword - The Jenkins home directory is located at:
/var/lib/jenkins - Manage the service using:
sudo systemctl [status|start|restart] jenkins
Deploy a ready-to-use, high-performance Jenkins controller — purpose-built to eliminate configuration friction and accelerate your software delivery lifecycle on Azure.
Note:
To access the Jenkins web interface, ensure that your Azure Network Security Group (NSG) allows inbound traffic on port 8080.
