A compact popup date range picker for Power BI with one-click presets and full color customization

Calendar Popup Visual replaces the default Power BI date slicer with a clean, space-saving popup calendar. Click the date bar to open a full calendar overlay; click outside or hit Apply to close it. Your dashboard stays uncluttered while giving users powerful date filtering. Key features: • One-click date presets — Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 28/30 Days, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month, and more. Each preset can be individually enabled or disabled. • Fiscal year support — Define your own fiscal year start month. Enables "This Fiscal Year" and "Last Fiscal Year" presets automatically. • Custom date range — Users click a start date and an end date on the calendar to define any range. Clicking outside with only a start date auto-completes the range using today. • Default opening date — Set the default date selection that applies when the report is first opened in Power BI Service. • Full visual customization — Control fonts, colors, padding, and borders for both the closed tab and the open calendar. Customize selection colors, range highlight, header style, and day cell sizing. • Auto Apply mode — Optionally skip the Apply button so the filter takes effect immediately when users select a range. • Smart layer behavior — The popup overlays other visuals when open. Place it at the bottom of the Selection Pane layer stack for best results. • Lightweight and private — No external network calls, no telemetry, no data collection. All filtering uses Microsoft's standard Advanced Filter API. Your data never leaves Power BI. Getting started: Place the visual on your canvas (recommended: top-right corner or in a filter panel). Bind a date column to the visual's field well. Open the Format pane to customize presets, colors, and fiscal year settings. Full documentation and setup guide available at bi-template.com.
