FY25_ManagedServices_Data Migration Solution

Purpose: We offer seamless managed services for data migration from on-premises to Azure which involves selecting the appropriate methods based on the data size, type, migration timeframe, and specific requirements.

Our Approach:

Assessment & Planning:

• Identify the data to be migrated, volume of data, type of data, and finalize target Azure Storage.
• Determine the volume, type, and sensitivity of the data.
• Closely working with Stake holder and understand all data and the scope of usage.
• Finalize method to transfer the data to Azure storage with Data services like Box or Disk

Preparation:

• Setting up prerequisites, transition and procurement of Azure Data Box/Disk
• Provide on site and 24x7 remote monitoring resources to complete data migration
• Prepare list of Source and target folders , create Project plan

Data Transfer:

• Provide training to in house IT team for handling Azure Data Box/Disk Devices
• 24*7 support for remote monitoring and troubleshooting, provide onsite resource based if defined in scope of work
• Exporting data to Azure target storage and provide final list of copied files

Methods:

1. Azure Storage Services: AzCopy: A command-line tool that helps you move data into and out of Azure Blob, File, and Table storage efficiently.
2. Azure Import/Export service: Azure Import/Export service is used to securely import large amounts of data to Azure Blob storage and Azure Files by shipping disk drives to an Azure datacenter. This service can also be used to transfer data from Azure Blob storage to disk drives and ship to your on-premises sites
3. Azure Databox: Data Box devices easily move data to Azure when busy networks aren’t an option. Move large amounts of data to Azure when you're limited by time, network availability, or costs, using common copy tools such as Robocopy. All data is AES-encrypted, and the devices are wiped clean after upload, in accordance with NIST Special Publication 800-88 revision1 standards
4. Third Party Tool:  Choose any third-party tool which can transfer data seamlessly

Onsite support: IFI involves having IT professionals physically present at the onsite location to assist with the data transfer process along with remote support 24*7. This type of support is useful for 
organizations that require hands-on assistance or have complex data transfer needs.
