Azure SQL Instance Pool

Azure SQL Managed Instance pools provide a cost-effective deployment option for SQL Managed Instance. Instance pools allow you to pre-provision compute resources (vCores) and then deploy individual SQL Managed Instances into the pre-provisioned compute capacity. One distinct advantage of this deployment option is the ability to deploy small 2-vCore individual SQL Managed Instances, which is not possible with the other deployment option (Single Instances) for SQL MI. In addition to the cost advantage and similarly to Single Instance deployment option, SQL Managed Instances within an instance pool present the best PaaS destination for your workloads, providing a rich SQL Server programming area and an intelligent, fully managed database service.
