Overlay SharePoint event calendars on one page with a color-coded legend, and flexible views.
ISS - Calendar Overlay is a SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web part that brings multiple SharePoint event calendars together on a single modern page. Instead of opening separate site calendars in different tabs, users see every configured schedule in one interactive view—with a color-coded legend, flexible layouts, and optional overlay of the signed-in user’s Microsoft 365 personal calendar.
Ideal for communications teams, operations, facilities, and SharePoint administrators, ISS - Calendar Overlay respects each source list’s SharePoint view, so existing filters and scope stay where you already manage them. Authors configure up to 30 calendars from across your tenant, assign colors and legend groups, map fields, and clone settings between pages with JSON import/export. Viewers switch between year, month, week, day, and list layouts, show or hide calendars for their session, search visible events, and open items in SharePoint with a rich hover preview.
By unifying team, department, and personal schedules in one place, ISS - Calendar Overlay helps organizations improve visibility, reduce context switching, and deliver a consistent calendar experience on SharePoint Online—and on Microsoft Teams when the hosting page is added as a tab.

- Honors each source’s SharePoint list view—filters and scope remain in SharePoint.
- Color-coded legend with show/hide per calendar; optional collapsible calendar groups.
- Multiple layouts: Year, Month, Week (overview and time grid), Day, and List.
- Optional overlay of the signed-in user’s Microsoft 365 personal calendar (Graph Calendars.Read).
- Hover preview with title, time, location, description, recurrence, and up to three custom popup fields.
- Category icons map event categories to Fluent UI icons for faster scanning.
- Text filter searches titles, locations, categories, descriptions, dates, and popup field values.
- Add event from the toolbar (unique site + list targets) or per calendar from the legend.
- Export visible events to PDF or CSV; Refresh reloads data and clears cache.
- Configuration import/export—clone web part settings between pages as JSON.
- Optional persistent cache (~24 hours) for faster repeat visits.
- Supports SharePoint Online modern pages; use the same page in Teams via a SharePoint tab.
This solution includes Webpart and Full Page section (Communication Site) capability.
This solution provides a fully-functional experience while unlicensed, with a banner indicating this.
In order to use this app without a banner, you need to have either a trial enabled (send us an email with your Tenant ID (displayed in the banner)) , or you need an active license.
