The KPI Card That Thinks Like an Analyst

Most KPI cards show a number and stop there. Canvas KPI Card goes further: it calculates what that number means relative to your target, surfaces the trend behind it, and signals status with color — automatically. Drop it into any dashboard and it transforms raw data into an answer before anyone has to ask a question.

- Responsive Typography — The primary value scales intelligently to fill the card at any size, from a compact mobile tile to a full-width hero card on a 4K display. No manual font sizing needed.

- Five Variance Calculation Modes — Go beyond simple percentage change. Choose from Percentage Variance, Absolute Gap, Remaining to Target, Achievement Ratio, or Status vs. Target (Good / Warning / Bad).

- Seven Arrow Styles — Simple (↑↓), Chevron (▲▼), Caret (▴▾), Trending (↗↘), Steep (⬈⬊), Flat (→), or None. Positive and negative colors are independently configurable.

- Smart Status Badge — Auto-detects Good, Warning, or Bad based on configurable thresholds (default: 80% = Warning, 100% = Good). Override with custom labels like "On Track", "At Risk", or "Critical".

- Built-In Sparkline — Area, Line, or Bar sparkline positioned at the bottom or right side of the card for a dual-pane layout. Supports gradient fill, smooth curves, and data point markers.

How to Get Started

Add the visual, drop in your primary Value measure, and the card renders instantly. Add a Target measure to unlock variance and status badge features. Connect a Trend Axis (date or category) and a Trend Value measure to activate the sparkline. The visual configures itself intelligently — your card looks polished before you touch the Format Pane.

Open the Format Pane to choose your icon, set status thresholds, pick an arrow style, and style the card to match your report theme. Full setup takes under five minutes, and the result looks like it took five hours.

Privacy and Security

Canvas KPI Card makes no external HTTP or WebSocket calls. All rendering and interaction logic runs entirely client-side inside the Power BI sandbox. No user data or telemetry is transmitted to any third party. Row-level security is fully honored.
