Pre-Cached Database
The Trivy vulnerability database is downloaded at build time into a shared cache at /var/lib/trivy and exported via TRIVY_CACHE_DIR, so the first scan on a fresh VM runs immediately - no waiting for a database fetch. Trivy refreshes it automatically when it ages out.
No Daemon, No Exposure
Trivy is a pure command-line tool - no web UI, no listening service, no open ports beyond SSH. The image is a hardened scanning workstation: SSH in and scan.
