Catalog Cleanup Tool is an administrator utility that walks Site Collection Administrators through the safe removal of a single installed SharePoint Framework app from a site collection. The guided three-step wizard surfaces apps in the site collection app catalog, reviews the downstream impact of removing the selected app (uninstall from Site Contents and removal of the catalog entry), and requires explicit confirmation before any destructive action is taken.
The tool is scope-focused: it removes the selected app and its catalog entry — not site content. Core SharePoint content (the site's default Documents library, Site Pages, Site Assets, Style Library, Form Templates, gallery lists, and the app catalog itself) is automatically excluded from every part of the wizard and CANNOT be removed by this tool, even if a stale UI somehow tries to. An optional "Other site lists" section is provided for the rare case where an admin wants to also remove a custom data list the app left behind; this section is opt-in, defaults to unchecked, and never lists protected SharePoint content.
The tool runs entirely against the SharePoint REST API via PnP.js, performs a Site Collection Administrator permission check before showing any destructive controls, and reports per-operation success or failure with user-friendly error messages and specific remediation guidance so administrators can audit exactly what was changed. No data leaves the tenant and no Microsoft Graph permissions are required.
