FreeRADIUS

FreeRADIUS 3.2.10 is an open-source, high-performance RADIUS server designed for centralized authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA). It is widely used with VPN servers, wireless networks, network access servers, switches, routers, and enterprise authentication systems.

The solution provides a flexible and scalable authentication platform for managing network access and user authentication. FreeRADIUS supports multiple authentication methods, database integrations, accounting, access policies, and secure communication between RADIUS clients and the authentication server.

Usage instructions for FreeRADIUS
$ sudo su
$ systemctl status freeradius
$ freeradius -v
$ freeradius -XC
$ ss -lunp | grep -E '1812|1813'
$ radtest testing 'RadiusPass123!' 127.0.0.1 0 testing123

FreeRADIUS configuration files are available in: /etc/freeradius/3.0/

Check FreeRADIUS service:

sudo systemctl status freeradius

Check installed version:

freeradius -v

Validate FreeRADIUS configuration:

sudo freeradius -XC

Authentication Port:

UDP 1812

Accounting Port:

UDP 1813

Successful authentication testing should return:

Access-Accept
