Azure Data Box

The Azure Data Box service enables you to copy terabytes of data to and from Azure in a quick, inexpensive, and reliable manner. Microsoft accelerates the secure data transfer by shipping you a device and handling the end-to-end logistics. Based on your data size requirements, you can select amongst different Azure Data Box models.

Copying data to/from Azure is done in just four simple steps.

1. Select the transfer type (import or export) and create an order for your preferred Data Box model
2. A device is prepared and sent to you
3. In case of import order, copy data to the device. For an export order, copy data from the device to your on-premise storage
4. Return the device to Azure

Once the device is received at the datacenter it is processed, secure erased and then the order completes.
