Workforce Insights (Frontier)

The Workforce Insights agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot gives leaders and their delegates a real-time, comprehensive view of their organization—across role, tenure, location, function and other attributes—to enable faster, more informed workforce decisions. Whether planning a reorg, monitoring hiring trends, or identifying opportunities to improve org hygiene, Workforce Insights surfaces the insights you need with just a question.

Workforce Insights brings together people and organizational data available in your Microsoft 365 tenant. For the best and most complete experience, Workforce Insights is designed to work with connected Human Capital Management (HCM) systems—such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors—powered through the Organizational Data Ingestion service in Microsoft 365, enabling richer and more reliable workforce attributes beyond basic identity data. If your tenant relies only on identity data (for example, Entra ID), available insights may be limited or vary in quality depending on how that data is maintained.

Built to align with Microsoft's privacy and governance standards, the Workforce Insights agent enables confident, data-informed planning.

Frontier

The new Frontier program gives customers early, hands-on access to experimental Microsoft 365 Copilot innovations right in their own environment. The agents and AI features designated as 'Frontier' are previews, built for evaluation and feedback purposes. Limitations

Data availability & privacy: Answers depend on the data sources connected to your tenant and the data governance labels assigned by your administrator. For the most complete insights, connecting an HCM system (such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors) is recommended. Learn more

Leader or delegate access is required for team data classified as 'manager confidential'. Users can request delegate access from managers via the Workforce Insights Manage data access page. Learn more

Licensing: Requires an active Microsoft 365 Copilot license with 50 Copilot licenses enabled in the tenant. Learn more
