The Microsoft Fabric Foundation Pack is a structured, accelerated engagement designed to help organisations deploy Microsoft Fabric correctly, securely, and sustainably from day one. It provides a proven foundation that removes complexity, reduces risk, and enables teams to focus on delivering business insights rather than struggling with platform setup and rework.

Microsoft Fabric is a powerful but rapidly evolving platform. Many organisations experience false starts, inconsistent design choices, unnecessary cost, and governance gaps when attempting to establish Fabric independently. The Foundation Pack addresses these challenges by applying NTT DATA’s real world experience, design standards, and governance patterns to deliver a ready to use Fabric landscape with confidence.

Delivered as a 1–2 week engagement, the package establishes a future ready Microsoft Fabric Modern Data Platform (MDP) using a two tier architecture, aligned to enterprise requirements and analytical workloads. It includes the setup of Fabric infrastructure, workspace structure, security and access controls, naming standards, and development guidelines, ensuring consistency, scalability, and long term maintainability.

A core focus of the Foundation Pack is governance by design. This includes clearly defined roles, access controls, and operational guardrails that enable multiple teams to work safely within Fabric without creating point solutions or technical debt. Cost management is also embedded into the design, helping organisations minimise unnecessary consumption and operate Fabric efficiently from the outset.

To ensure the platform is operationally ready, the engagement incorporates platform logging, monitoring, capacity visibility, and proactive alerting, providing IT teams with the controls required to support production analytics workloads. In addition, a Fabric Workspace Design workshop aligns stakeholders on structure, standards, and best practices, enabling internal teams to build confidently and sustainably beyond the engagement.
