Delivery architecture and access
Microsoft Entra ID controls Azure management access. VMware administration and guest operating-system permissions are scoped separately.
The customer owns the Azure subscription, Azure VMware Solution resources, credentials, data, and approval decisions. Simplicity IT uses customer-approved least-privilege access. Azure Lighthouse can be used for delegated Azure management when the customer approves it. Owner, User Access Administrator, and broad data-reader roles are not required by the standard delivery pattern. Every production migration and cutover requires a named customer approver, an approved change record, tested rollback steps, and application-owner acceptance.
Eight-week delivery plan
Week 1 confirms the approved assessment, business outcomes, subscriptions, regions, dependencies, application owners, migration candidates, change control, and acceptance criteria.
Week 2 completes the low-level design for the landing zone, AVS private cloud, connectivity, routing, DNS, identity, logging, backup, recovery, security, and operations.
Weeks 3 and 4 deploy and validate the approved Azure and AVS foundation, configure connectivity, establish the migration tooling, and rehearse the pilot runbook.
Week 5 migrates the approved pilot group, records technical and application validation, resolves defects, and secures the customer decision for the production wave.
Weeks 6 and 7 execute one controlled production wave of up to 25 eligible virtual machines, with checkpoint approvals, rollback readiness, and daily status reporting.
Week 8 completes operational validation, cost and capacity review, knowledge transfer, as-built documentation, evidence packaging, and the prioritized plan for remaining waves.

Prerequisites
The customer supplies an executive sponsor, Azure subscription, approved region, current VMware and network access, application owners, change windows, a usable assessment or approved discovery data, required licenses, and decision makers for security, networking, backup, recovery, and operations. Azure service consumption, third-party licenses, ExpressRoute or carrier charges, and hardware are customer costs.
Limitations and exclusions
The base plan covers one Azure region, one AVS private cloud, one source VMware environment, one pilot group, and one production wave of up to 25 eligible virtual machines. Application refactoring, database modernization, end-user computing transformation, mass data migration, unsupported operating systems, remediation outside the agreed migration path, additional regions, additional private clouds, and later workload waves require a separate scope or customer private offer.
