Microsoft’s local AI runtime and management layer that enables customers to deploy, run, and operate AI models and agents on their own infrastructure - such as Azure Local - within their sovereign and data boundaries.

Foundry Local extends Microsoft Foundry to on‑premises and edge environments, enabling customers to deploy, run, and manage AI models and agents on Azure Local infrastructure using Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes. It provides a cloud‑consistent AI runtime, model catalog, and management layer for connected and disconnected scenarios, while keeping data and operations within the customer’s sovereign boundary.
