Onplana

Onplana for Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot puts Onplana projects in Teams tabs, creates tasks from Teams messages, confirms what you did through a notification bot, and lets Copilot read and update your plans. It is for project managers, PMOs and delivery teams who plan and track work in Microsoft 365.

How do I manage projects in Microsoft Teams?

• Personal tabs open your Dashboard, My tasks (the work assigned to you, across every project), Projects and Governance views, signed in with your Microsoft account. The same tabs open in Outlook and the Microsoft 365 app.
• Each project has list, board, Gantt, grid and calendar views. From the tabs you also reach Issues, Ideas, Goals and Reports, and you can ask the Onplana assistant about your projects.
• Add Onplana to a channel or group chat to pin a project or dashboard for everyone in it.
• Paid plans are bought through Microsoft, per user, here or in the Teams admin center; the workspace owner adds people in Onplana up to the seats bought.

Can I create a task from a Teams message?

• Yes. On any message in a chat or channel, choose More actions, then Create an Onplana task. Pick the project, check the title and description taken from the message, and create it.
• Paste a link to an Onplana project or task and it shows as a preview with the title, type and status, when you can open the item. Otherwise it shows a plain link card.
• The notification bot welcomes you when you add the app, helps you link your Onplana account, and confirms each task you create from a message. It doesn't chat.

Can Copilot update my project plan?

• Yes, through the Onplana agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot. Ask what is assigned to you, what is overdue, or for a status summary of a project.
• The agent searches your workspace, creates and updates tasks, adds comments and logs issues.
• What it can do follows your Onplana plan and role, and it only sees what you can open.

Onplana uses AI to generate summaries, suggestions, and plans; AI-generated content is indicated in the app and should be reviewed before you rely on it. To report AI-generated content you consider objectionable, email support@onplana.com.

Requirements and plans

• An Onplana account. If you don't have one, you can create one the first time you sign in with your Microsoft 365 account.
• Onplana has a free plan. Sprints need the Professional plan, portfolios and goals need Business, and proposal governance needs Enterprise.
• Creating tasks from messages and link previews are not available in a workspace that requires two-step verification or an IP allowlist, because Teams can't confirm either. Use Onplana on the web there.
• The agent runs in Microsoft 365 Copilot, so it needs Microsoft 365 Copilot in your organization.
