SmartVisuals Gantt Chart turns Power BI into a real project-tracking tool. Build a schedule with a collapsible work-breakdown hierarchy, watch progress roll up to summary bars, and trace what actually drives your timeline through dependency arrows, critical-path highlighting and plan-vs-actual baselines.

Everything is computed locally inside Power BI. No external services, no API keys, no data leaving your report.

• Dependency arrows - finish-to-start connectors drawn from a simple comma-separated predecessor field. No separate relationship table to model.
• Critical path - the longest chain through your dependency network, highlighted automatically, so you can see which slip actually moves the end date.
• Baseline comparison - ghost bars showing the original plan, with the slip spelled out in the tooltip ("+3 days late").
• Grid columns - up to three sortable data columns beside the task names for Owner, Status, Cost or anything else in your model.

How licensing works

Everything is unlocked while you author or edit a report, so you can build and test the full chart before deciding. Free features always render for every viewer and the visual never blocks your report or shows a watermark. A per-user license is only needed to see premium features in reading view. Licenses are purchased through AppSource and assigned to users in the Microsoft 365 admin center, like any other Microsoft subscription. Additional purchases may be required.

Getting started

Drop in Task, Start Date and End Date and you have a working chart. Add Parent Task for hierarchy, Dependencies for arrows, and Progress %, Baseline Start/End, Category or Grid Columns as your project needs them.

Tip: give a task the same start and end date and it renders as a milestone marker.

Works well for project management of construction schedules, product roadmaps, campaign calendars, implementation plans, portfolio timelines and sprint overviews.

Privacy and security

All calculations, including the critical path, run locally in the browser inside your Power BI report. The visual makes no external service calls, requires no accounts or API keys, and never transmits your data anywhere.
