Version 3.2.2 + Free Support on Ubuntu 24.04

Pascal is a high-level, structured, and procedural programming language developed by Niklaus Wirth in 1970. It was designed to encourage good programming practices, structured programming, and efficient data structuring. Pascal became widely used in computer science education, software development, and application programming due to its simple syntax, readability, and reliability.

Modern Pascal implementations such as Free Pascal and Object Pascal support advanced programming features including object-oriented programming, modular development, cross-platform compilation, and rapid application development. Pascal is commonly used for educational purposes, desktop application development, system utilities, and maintaining legacy software applications.

Key Features of Pascal:

  • High-level procedural programming language with clean and readable syntax.
  • Supports structured programming concepts for organized code development.
  • Strongly typed language that helps reduce programming errors.
  • Includes support for functions, procedures, records, arrays, and file handling.
  • Modern implementations support object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • Cross-platform compiler support for Linux, Windows, and macOS.
  • Widely used for computer science education and algorithm learning.
  • Compatible with modern development tools such as Free Pascal and Lazarus IDE.
Usage Instruction

To Check the version of Pacal, run following command on your VM:

$sudo su
$fpc -iV

Run a Pascal Program:

$fpc hello.pas
$./hello

Disclaimer:
Pascal is an independent programming language and development ecosystem available through various open-source and commercial implementations. Users should verify compiler compatibility, library support, and platform requirements before developing or deploying Pascal applications in production environments.
