A Gantt chart for project schedules in Microsoft Power BI, with honest parent rows, dependencies, baselines and earned value.

The problem it solves

• Parent rows are averaged, so a two-day task counts as much as a two-month one.

• In the Power BI Service, everyone who opens the report needs a licence. Readers without one see Power BI's licence prompt instead of the visual.
• Without a licence in the Service, an author editing the report still gets the core chart for the first 500 tasks, with a note showing the total.

• Marketplace licensing doesn't cover Power BI Report Server, Publish to web, PaaS (app-owns-data) embedding, national or regional clouds, or exporting to PDF or PowerPoint through the REST API.
