Functional Overview

Vendor Web Portal is a web portal connected to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central that enables authorized vendors to independently access their own documents, review orders and other purchasing documents, download PDFs, and enter or confirm delivery dates. All views are filtered by the authenticated vendor, so each user can see only their own data.

Business Value

This functionality increases vendor autonomy and reduces the operational workload of the purchasing department by moving activities such as document consultation, credential management, notification handling, and especially delivery date proposal/confirmation to the portal. In Business Central, the buyer can then accept or reject the dates proposed by the vendor and manage any related return notes.

Key Features

The portal allows vendors to:

• access the portal with dedicated credentials and password management;
• review documents such as purchase quotes, orders, blanket orders, receipts, invoices, and posted credit memos;
• download document PDFs;
• receive banners and notifications;
• confirm delivery dates on open order lines;
• enter notes linked to order lines, which are then visible in Business Central.

Configuration and Customization

From the Business Central side, the app allows users to configure the portal public URL, default language, password duration, cost visibility, home dashboard, overdue orders, navigation bar, list filters, and multilingual label translations. Notifications, banners, and even the navigation bar can also be customized for each individual vendor.

Marketplace Positioning

This is not just a document access feature, but a B2B collaboration solution between vendor and buyer integrated with Business Central. Its main strength is the operational synchronization between the web portal and Business Central, especially in the date confirmation process, with tracking of notes, statuses, and buyer decisions.
