Gantt Chart is the intuitive, high-performance project management visual for Microsoft Power BI. Plan and track project portfolios, construction schedules, product roadmaps, and agile sprints in one interactive timeline, with task hierarchies, dependencies, milestones, and planned vs. actual progress.

Key Features

• WBS hierarchy: up to 10 levels of parent-child tasks with expand/collapse, optional WBS row numbers, and a resizable task column.
• Task dependencies: map Task ID and Predecessor ID to draw dependency arrows between linked tasks.
• Planned vs. actual progress: compare Actual (%) and Planned (%) on every bar, in Overlay or Strip style, with percentage data labels.
• Milestones: up to 5 milestone date columns per task, each with its own symbol (circle, diamond, square, triangle, star). Zero-duration tasks can display as milestones.
• Task owners: color-coded avatars with initials to spot resource bottlenecks and team workload at a glance.
• Task links: attach up to 3 URLs per task (specifications, tickets, documents) and open them from the chart.
• KPI columns: show up to 3 extra columns (budget, status, priority) next to the task list.
• Zoom & navigation: Day, Week, Month, Quarter, Year, or Automatic zoom. Zoom with Ctrl + mouse wheel or trackpad pinch, drag the timeline header to pan or stretch the timescale, and open the report on today, the project start, or the end.
• Working calendar: today line, first day of the week, and weekend shading (Saturday–Sunday or Friday–Saturday).
• Search: filter large schedules by task name in real time.
• Formatting: dark mode, legend with custom colors, row banding, grid lines, and fonts for the task list, header, and labels.
• Accessibility: keyboard navigation, screen reader support, and high-contrast mode.
• 34 languages: localized interface and date formats, including right-to-left Arabic and Hebrew.
• Performance: segmented data loading keeps large project schedules fast.

Getting Started

Add your task categories, start dates, and end dates to the Fields pane. Then add progress, milestones, owners, links, dependencies, or Power BI report page tooltips.

All visual features can be tested for free, but a valid license is required for all editors and viewers. Licenses must be assigned to individual users in the same way as Microsoft 365 product licenses. Notifications will appear on unlicensed visuals.
