Flexible, Hierarchical Navigation Model

Quick Links Navigator supports configurable navigation depths, allowing organizations to define structures that best fit their needs:

• One-level navigation (e.g., Department → Links)
• Two-level navigation (e.g., Department → Category → Links)
• Three-level navigation (e.g., Department → Category → Subcategory → Links)

This flexibility ensures the solution can support simple quick-link collections as well as complex enterprise navigation scenarios-without redesign or redevelopment.

Metadata-Driven Design

Quick Links Navigator is powered entirely by SharePoint lists, enabling no-code configuration and easy ongoing management.

Primary Group (List)

• Columns: Title, Color
• Represents top-level groupings such as departments, business areas, or functional domains
• Displayed visually on the home page with configurable color coding

Secondary Group (Optional – List)

• Columns: Title, Primary Group (Lookup)
• Used to define second-level groupings when required

Tertiary Group (Optional – List)

• Columns: Title, Primary Group, Secondary Group (Lookups)
• Enables deeper navigation for more complex structures

Quick Links (List)

• Columns: Title, Primary Group (Lookup), Secondary Group (Lookup – optional),

  Tertiary Group (Lookup – optional), LinkURL

• Stores link metadata and clickable URLs pointing to content located anywhere within or outside SharePoint

All relationships are metadata-driven, allowing administrators to adjust the navigation depth and structure without impacting the underlying solution.
