Fixed-scope migration from Microsoft Project Online (PWA) to Dynamics 365 Project Operations
This Professional Services offering delivers a fixed-scope migration from Microsoft Project Online (Project Web App) to Dynamics 365 Project Operations. It provides a structured transition path to help customers move their current Project Online way of working to a modern and supported platform ahead of the Project Online service retirement on September 30.
The package focuses on migrating what already exists in the Project Online environment, including essential setup, basic configuration and custom fields. Data migration covers projects and tasks, based on agreed scope and technical feasibility. DEV/UAT/PROD environments are configured, deployment automation via Azure DevOps is enabled, and the engagement includes user training and post go-live hypercare.
While Dynamics 365 Project Operations can enable significantly broader and more advanced capabilities (for example, deeper governance, automation, integrated financial processes, and advanced reporting), this offer is intentionally scoped to a migration-first approach. Additional capabilities beyond the current Project Online setup can be explored and implemented in a future phase through an expanded package or a separate engagement.
This offer is ideal for PMOs, project managers, and IT teams who rely on Project Online today and need a pragmatic, repeatable, and low-risk migration path to Dynamics 365 Project Operations without heavy customization, external integrations, or custom reporting.
Documents and files stored in SharePoint project sites associated with Project Online aren’t migrated as part of the package. The legacy repository remains available for historical reference, and a “Legacy Document Repository URL” is automatically populated per migrated project when available.
