Full Project Management
Work packages for tasks, features, bugs and milestones with full activity history; Gantt timelines with dependencies; agile boards for Scrum and Kanban; a project wiki, time and cost tracking, budgets and status reporting; and a built-in REST API at /api/v3.
Production Stack
Installed from the official all-in-one package (bundled Rails app, Ruby runtime and worker), with PostgreSQL 16 and memcached on loopback and nginx on port 80 reverse-proxying the bundled application server.
Dedicated Data Disk
The PostgreSQL database and the file attachment store live on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk at /var/lib/openproject, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM.
Secure First Boot
On the first boot of every VM a fresh Rails secret and database password are rotated and a unique administrator account is written to /root/openproject-credentials.txt, so no shared default credential ships in the image.
