Nginx UI on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Nginx UI is a web management interface for nginx. It reads and writes the nginx configuration directly, so you can create and edit sites, streams and upstreams from a browser, issue and renew Let's Encrypt certificates, browse and analyse access and error logs, and test and reload the configuration without hand editing files over SSH. Every change is validated before it is applied, so a bad edit is caught before it reaches a running server.

This image delivers Nginx UI 2.4.2 and nginx 1.24.0 fully installed, patched and managed by systemd. Nginx UI listens on port 9000 and nginx serves your sites on port 80 and 443. Nginx UI is not served through the nginx it manages, so a change that takes a site down never locks you out of the tool you need to fix it.

The captured image contains no account and no password. On first boot each VM generates its own administrator password, completes setup over the loopback interface before the service is exposed, verifies the credential and rejects guessable passwords, then records the details in a root only file. No two deployments share a credential.

Nginx UI is licensed under AGPL-3.0 and is free. The cloudimg charge of 0.04 US dollars per vCPU hour covers packaging, security patching, image maintenance and 24/7 support. Port 9000 is the administrative interface and includes an authenticated in browser terminal; restrict it to trusted networks before production. cloudimg is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Nginx UI project or by F5, Inc.
