Save email attachments to SharePoint or OneDrive in two clicks, with no downloads.
Email Save is built for professional-services firms, consultancies and other organizations that use Microsoft 365. It saves the attachments of an email straight to SharePoint or OneDrive, in two clicks and without downloading anything first, so client and project documents go to the right folder without a detour through the desktop.
WHO IT IS FOR
Accounting, legal, engineering and consulting firms, and any team that receives client documents by email and keeps them in SharePoint or OneDrive.
WORKS IN
Outlook on the web, Outlook for Windows (new and classic) and Outlook for Mac, with a Microsoft 365 work or school account.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Pick the destination in a large window: sites on the left, libraries and folders on the right.
• Find any SharePoint site by typing part of its name or address.
• Use Recent, Followed and All sites, with your OneDrive always at hand.
• Star favorite folders and come back to recent ones. Email Save also suggests the folder you used for the same sender or company before.
• Create a new folder on the spot.
• Save one attachment or several at once. Large files are supported. Attached emails are saved like any other attachment.
• If a file with the same name already exists, choose to rename the new one, replace it with a new version, or skip it.
• Optionally save the text of the whole email as an .eml file next to the attachments (a checkbox, off by default). It also works for emails that have no attachments.
• After saving, copy the file link or open the folder.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Email Save has no servers of its own. Files go from your Outlook straight to your Microsoft 365 tenant, with your own permissions, and nothing is stored or sent to us.
REQUIREMENTS
• Designed for business use: a mailbox on Exchange Online and a Microsoft 365 work or school account with SharePoint and/or OneDrive.
• No separate sign-up: Email Save uses the account you already use in Outlook. The first time, you sign in with it, and your organization may ask an administrator to approve access once for everyone.
• The optional .eml checkbox needs a recent version of Outlook; where it is not available it is shown as disabled and attachments are saved as usual.
LIMITATIONS
• Shared mailboxes are not supported: open an email from your own mailbox.
• Not available for IMAP or POP accounts, nor for Exchange servers installed on premises.
• Not available on mobile.
