AI chat visual

The AI chat visual brings a conversational interface into your Power BI reports, letting users ask natural-language questions about the data in their reports and receive responses from Implement Consulting Group's GenAI service.

How it works

The visual is a thin client. When a user types a prompt, the visual:

• Authenticates the user using the Power BI Authentication API (Microsoft Entra ID)
• Sends the prompt and the bound report data to the configured Implement backend endpoint
• Displays the response in the visual

Requirements

• The user's Power BI / Fabric tenant administrator must enable the organizational visual setting for the Power BI Authentication API.
• The user must be authorized to access Implement Consulting Group's GenAI service.
• The visual works in Power BI Service (web), Power BI Desktop, and Power BI mobile apps. It does not work in Power BI Report Server (server-side), embedded analytics, or Microsoft Teams.

Security

The visual cannot send data to arbitrary services. Both the set of permitted backend hosts and the Entra ID token audience are pinned in the signed package and enforced by the Power BI host. See the support documentation for details.
