What it checks

• Color contrast — flags text (and table-cell and emoji content) that fails WCAG 2.1 AA against its background, and suggests a passing color to apply in one click.
• Alt text — finds images, icons, charts, SmartArt, freeform shapes, and grouped graphics missing descriptive alternatives; generates AI-written suggestions, or marks purely decorative objects so screen readers skip them.
• Links — detects broken/dead hyperlinks, empty anchors, and non-descriptive link text (e.g. "click here").
• Table structure — surfaces tables without header rows, missing captions, and empty headers that confuse screen readers.
• Headings & document structure (Word) — catches skipped heading levels, empty or overly long headings, and documents with no headings at all.
• Slide titles (PowerPoint) — flags slides with no title, empty titles, or duplicate titles, and can add a proper (optionally hidden) native title placeholder.
• Reading order & unreachable content — flags PowerPoint shapes positioned off-canvas where assistive tech can't find them.
• Font size — flags text too small to read comfortably.
• List structure (Word) — detects invalid list nesting and text that should be a real list.
• Use of color — flags meaning conveyed by color alone (WCAG 1.4.1).
• Document properties — checks for a missing document or presentation title and other accessibility metadata.

How it works

Privacy by design

We send only what each check requires — never document metadata, comments, or tracked changes. Image bytes used for alt-text generation are discarded immediately after the suggestion is returned.

Supported hosts

Word and PowerPoint 2016 or later on Windows and Mac, Office on the web, and Microsoft 365 subscriptions. A Microsoft account is not required, but a stable internet connection is.
