How BIChart automates the Tableau assessment

1. Connect to Tableau — Add your Tableau Server credentials once inside BIChart. A Personal Access Token is stored securely in AWS Secrets Manager; no passwords are persisted.

2. Scan workbooks and connections — BIChart enumerates every workbook on your Tableau site across multiple Tableau APIs. For each workbook, it downloads the underlying .twb XML definition and parses it for unsupported features across six categories: visual types, analytics, interactivity, actions, dashboard objects, and data layer (LOD expressions, custom SQL, user filters).

3. Score compatibility — Each workbook receives a 0–100 compatibility score, color-coded across reports.\

4. Inventory BI assets — Published data sources, extract-refresh tasks, and email subscriptions are cataloged alongside workbooks, giving you a complete picture of operational dependencies before any content is moved.

5. Report results — BIChart generates a PDF executive summary (cover, summary table, per-workbook compatibility detail) and an Excel workbook with five dedicated sheets, including per-workbook migration hour estimates. Both files are available for immediate download.

6. Migrate with confidence — Select workbooks directly from the assessment results and hand them off to BIChart's automated migration pipeline. Compatibility context travels with each workbook into Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
