We offer a standardized 3 step approach to help you assess, plan, implement and evaluate Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) for your organization.

Azure Virtual Desktop: Our 3 step approach We offer a standardized 3 step approach to help you assess, plan, implement and evaluate Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) for your organization.

Step 1: Assesment We begin with an assessment. This can be done via Teams or on-site at your location. We want to know: why are you using AVD? Which applications are running on it? What are your goals? Depending on the size of your environment, this process takes around four to eight hours. Part of it we’ll do together; the rest we’ll investigate independently.

Step 2: Report creation “What we see, we write down. And what we find, we say honestly.”

You’ll receive a report in two parts:

  • A concise documentation of your AVD environment (our interpretation of what we observe).
  • Recommendations for improvements, based on best practices and our own experience.

We look at:

Identity & Access

  • Active Directory, Entra ID, hybrid joined
  • Why was this setup chosen?

AVD Components

  • Host pools, application groups, workspaces, networking
  • How is the separation between environments arranged?
  • Which regions are used?
  • How is access configured (shortpath, private endpoints)?

Session Hosts & Host Pools

  • VMs, image gallery, templates
  • How many active users?
  • Autoscaling? Logging? Updates?

Profiles

  • FsLogix, storage accounts, file servers
  • Where are profiles stored?
  • What is the configuration?

Applications (optional)

  • What are the main applications?
  • Are they client-server? How is the integration set up?
  • Is data stored locally or via fileshares?

We visualize where necessary — because sometimes a picture says more than a thousand words.

Recommendations

“We tell you what could be improved — and what’s already great.” Our recommendations are based on Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework, our own best practices, and your specific situation.

We outline:

  • What we would do differently
  • Why that’s better
  • What the benefits are (performance, cost, stability)
  • What the impact is
  • What the risks are

And we’re honest. If something is already well set up, we’ll say so. It’s not about criticism — it’s about progress.

Conclusion

“Where are you now? Where can you go next?”

We end with a short conclusion:

  • How your environment is currently structured
  • How many improvement points we’ve identified
  • The direction you can take next

That way, you’ll know exactly where you stand — and where things can be improved.

Step 3: Delivery

“We deliver it the way you want it.” You’ll receive the report via Teams or email — whichever you prefer. During the first “AVD Check-up,” we’ll decide together what works best. Including the sales process — because we do this together.
