A production-ready AdGuard Home 0.107 network-wide DNS filtering server on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, hardened for Azure. AdGuard Home blocks advertising, tracking, and malware domains at the DNS level for every device that points at it - laptops, phones, servers, entire offices - with per-client rules and query logs. Building it by hand means port 53 conflicts with the stub resolver, service hardening, and wizard exposure - manual, time-consuming friction. What's pre-configured in this image:
- AdGuard Home 0.107.77 from the official upstream release, SHA-256 verified at build time
- systemd service enabled; Ubuntu's stub resolver reconfigured so port 53 is free for AdGuard Home
- DNS service on port 53 and the setup/admin web UI on port 3000
- Encrypted upstream support - DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS to the resolvers you choose

No default or shared credentials are ever baked into the image: anything secret is generated per-VM on first boot and stored root-only on your VM, so no two deployments share a secret and there is no claimable open instance waiting on the network.
System requirements: Minimum Standard_B1s (1 vCPU, 1 GB RAM) - AdGuard Home is a single efficient Go binary. Recommended: Standard_B2s (2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM) for large networks with long query-log retention. Restrict port 53 to your own networks via a network security group; never run an open resolver.
