HR Metrics & Workforce Analytics Dashboard for a Paint Manufacturing Giant using Microsoft Fabric
As part of a large leading paint manufacturing enterprise’s data modernization initiative, a new data architecture was designed and implemented using Microsoft Fabric. The project involved building a Lakehouse and Warehouse environment to support scalable, unified data storage and processing. A Power BI reporting layer was developed on top of this architecture to deliver actionable insights to business users.
Project Features
- Lakehouse Architecture • Implemented a Lakehouse in Microsoft Fabric. • Enabled ingestion of both structured and unstructured data. • Organized using the Bronze–Silver–Gold layered model to support scalable and maintainable data processing.
- Warehouse Setup • Developed a SQL-based Fabric Warehouse for analytics and reporting. • Schema aligned with business domains. • Optimized for high-performance queries and seamless integration with Power BI.
- Automated Data Pipelines • Integrated data from enterprise systems such as SAP (OData) and MSFA. • Built ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric Dataflows Gen2 and Notebooks. • Ensured clean, validated, and transformed data availability for downstream use.
- Power BI Report Development • Designed and deployed interactive Power BI dashboards featuring: o Daily Sales Updates o MTD/YTD Performance Metrics o Billing & Brand Performance o Outstanding Payments & Top Dealers • Implemented Row-Level Security (RLS) for secure, role-based access to data.
- Scalability & Performance • Leveraged Microsoft Fabric capacity for scalable performance and concurrent access. • Optimized warehouse tables for improved report responsiveness. • Enabled automated scaling of Fabric capacity (scale-in and scale-out).
