How this compares

Most AVD engagements build the environment and hand it over, and within a year the images are stale, the scaling plans do not match how people actually work, and the cost has drifted. Prerequisites

An Azure subscription with an existing or planned Azure Virtual Desktop deployment, Microsoft 365 E3 or better or Windows Enterprise per-user licensing for AVD entitlement, a working identity path through Microsoft Entra ID, and Contributor plus User Access Administrator rights on the AVD resource groups for Lighthouse onboarding.

Limitations

Azure consumption for session hosts, storage, and networking is billed by Microsoft directly and is not included in the management fee. Application packaging for line-of-business applications is included for a named set agreed at onboarding; applications added later are scoped separately. This service covers Azure Virtual Desktop specifically, not Windows 365 Cloud PC, which is priced differently and managed under a separate offer.
