Dynamics Nav on Azure: 4-Day Implementation

Deployment of Microsoft Dynamics NAV application server in Azure Virtual Machine (Testing & Production instance) having back-end as Azure SQL Database Service.

Agenda

Day 1

• Identify Client Requirements like:
• Total number of Microsoft NAV users in a concurrent scenario.
• End user’s locations.
• Current infrastructure of On-Premise Active directory, etc.
• Determine required configuration for Azure SQL Database and Virtual Machine.
• Sign Off by Customer on configuration and portal credentials as required.

Day 2

• Activation of Azure subscription & creation of Azure portal credentials
• Creation of Azure SQL database (PAAS) model installation and configuration for testing instance.
• Connecting SQL Management Studio of development team to Test Instance
• Configuration of SQL server firewall setting and data storage capacity.
• Configuration of NAV Application server in virtual machine for test instance.

Day 3

• Creation of Azure SQL database (PAAS) model installation and configuration for production instance.
• Connecting SQL Management Studio of development team to Production Instance
• Configuration of SQL server firewall setting and data storage capacity.
• Configuration of NAV Application server in virtual machine for production instance.

Day 4

• Setting Site to Site VPN or Clickonce configuration for deploying Windows Clients
• Testing the entire environment
• Training & Handover to the admin for maintenance.

Note

• Migration from on premise Microsoft Dynamics Nav to Azure can also be performed based on the understanding the existing infrastructure. Additional days for such migration may be involved & charged accordingly.
