Simform enables confident Microsoft Fabric adoption by establishing a best-practice data platform foundation that streamlines workflows, access, and management from day one.
Simform helps organizations design and establish a Microsoft Fabric configuration and infrastructure foundation based on industry best practices for modern data platform architecture from day one. This enables teams to adopt Fabric with confidence while minimizing future rework related to access control, workspace structure, and data management.
Primary Objective: Set up a secure and scalable Microsoft Fabric foundation covering workspaces, OneLake, access control, governance, and initial operating standards.
Scope: Configure Fabric tenant and workspace structure aligned to business domains and set up foundational data architecture including OneLake, Lakehouse, and Warehouse. Define and implement user roles and workspace access controls and establish basic monitoring, usage tracking, and capacity visibility. Define standards for naming conventions, ownership, and environment setup (Dev/Test/Prod).
Deliverables:
- Fabric workspace and environment setup (up to 3 environments: Dev, Test, Prod)
- OneLake, Lakehouse, and Warehouse baseline configuration
- Role-based access and security setup
- Governance and workspace standards document (covering Microsoft Entra ID, Private endpoints and SQL endpoints)
- Admin and operations guide
- Knowledge transfer session
