Dynamics NAV to Business Central Migration: 8-Wk Implementation
Microsoft Dynamics NAV is out of mainstream support, and the older your version, the longer you've been running without new features or security updates. Folio3 Dynamics moves NAV shops to Dynamics 365 Business Central Online in eight weeks, on a fixed fee we can commit to at contract signing because we've delivered 300+ Dynamics projects over 20+ years, and the first discovery week tells us which of our standard migration paths fits your environment.
What's included
- Master data and historical ledgers migrated with full reconciliation
- NAV customizations converted so they carry forward into Business Central
- Integrations to your other systems rebuilt on the Business Central side
- Production cutover with two weeks of hypercare afterward
Most of the work sits in the customization layer. Chart-of-accounts remaps, historical GL reconciliation, and C/AL-to-AL code conversion for anything beyond trivial customization are usually where DIY Business Central migration projects stall or overrun. This engagement handles all three.
Who this works for
Mid-market companies still running Dynamics NAV, including earlier Navision installations, who are looking for a Business Central implementation partner that has done this specific migration before. Single-entity and multi-entity migrations are both in scope, though multi-entity setups sometimes need a discovery extension in week one.
Folio3 Dynamics brings 20+ years in the Dynamics ecosystem, with delivery teams in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East.
How the eight weeks run
Week 1 is discovery: NAV environment audit, customization inventory, ISV and add-in dependency mapping, and Business Central SKU sizing for your user count and data volume. Week 2 produces the migration blueprint, covering data scope, chart-of-accounts remap plan, integration architecture, cutover strategy, and a signed statement of work.
Weeks 3 and 4 handle code and extension conversion. C/AL objects are refactored to AL, deprecated objects retired, and extensions rebuilt and deployed to a sandbox tenant.
Weeks 5 and 6 are the data migration itself, using Microsoft's Cloud Migration Tool for master data, open transactions, and historical GL, followed by reconciliation across GL, AR, AP, and inventory. Your finance team signs off on the reconciliation before we move on.
Week 7 is user acceptance testing, role-based training, Copilot enablement, and a cutover rehearsal. Week 8 is the production cutover, followed by two weeks of hypercare and knowledge transfer to your team.
What you receive
