This integration connects Box with Microsoft Teams, making it easy for users to access, share, and collaborate on Box files directly within Teams. By bringing Box content into the Teams environment, it enhances productivity and collaboration by keeping all files and conversations in one place. The integration also supports advanced features like the Box AI Agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot, which allows users to quickly find, analyze, and ask questions about their Box content with Copilot.
Capabilities
Box for Teams:
- Share from Box: Easily share Box content to channels and chats, or upload local files directly to a channel’s associated Box folder
- Box Files tab: View all Box content related to a channel in one place. Preview and edit files without switching between apps
- Personal scope: Instantly access your Box content, even if they haven’t been shared in a Teams channel or chat
- Mobile compatibility: Upload, preview, and edit Box files within the Microsoft Teams app on iOS and Android devices
Available admin features include:
- Automatic Box folder creation: Automatically creates Box folders for both new and existing channels
- Automatic user permissions mapping: Automatically syncs user permissions between Teams channels and their associated Box folders
- Content card controls: Choose whether content cards display additional metadata and file thumbnail images
Box AI Agent in Copilot:
The Box AI Agent enables users to securely access, search, and analyze their Box content directly within Microsoft 365 Copilot, making information easier to find. Leveraging Box AI, users can:
- Search across all Box files using Copilot
- Summarize Box documents and extract key insights
- Get answers to questions based on Box file contents
- Generate drafts, recommendations, and action items from Box documents
