K-Folder Link turns SharePoint document library folders into fast, flexible navigation links.
The K-Folder Link solution package contains a single web part built using the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) that provides easy access to folders in Microsoft SharePoint Online document libraries using responsive navigation links and buttons. It helps users reach important content quickly without navigating through the standard library interface.
Designed for intranet managers, information architects, document-management teams, project teams and business departments, K-Folder Link provides a simple way to create folder-based navigation that remains aligned with your library structure.
Key capabilities include:
- Select any document library on the current SharePoint site.
- Start navigation from the library root or a specified folder path.
- Display folders as simple links, outline buttons or filled buttons.
- Use standard folder icons or solid icons that reflect assigned SharePoint folder colors.
- Display folder, subfolder and document counts.
- Preview subfolders and documents using on-demand hover cards.
- Sort folders alphabetically or by creation date or specify a custom order.
- Selectively show or hide folder links.
- Apply responsive layouts, entrance animation and configurable web-part header formatting.
- Recognize Document Sets and display an appropriate icon.
Freemium and licensed features
The Freemium edition provides the core folder-navigation and presentation features without requiring an external account. A trial or paid Kaboodle Software license unlocks premium capabilities, including showing or hiding individual folders, custom drag-and-drop ordering, folder-content hover cards and synchronization with SharePoint Site Navigation.
Site Navigation can be updated manually or synchronized automatically. Navigation can be positioned at the top level, inserted after an existing item and optionally include subfolders as child links. Site Navigation synchronization requires a user with Full Control or equivalent site-management permissions.
Installation requirements
A SharePoint administrator must deploy the solution through the SharePoint App Catalog before site owners can add and configure the web part. A separate account is not required for Freemium use. Trial and paid features require a Kaboodle Software license.
