Ryse Performance Scout

por Ryse Technologies LLC

Performance Scout™ is a purpose-built diagnostics and monitoring tool for Microsoft Dynamics 365

Slow in production, fine in test? An invoice posting that takes minutes at month end, a batch job that overruns some nights, a report or an integration that is slow for some users only. It does not show in UAT, you cannot attach a profiler to production, and a one-off trace rarely catches the slow run. Performance Scout™ measures the real runs where they happen, inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain, without external tracing tools, and shows where the execution time goes.

Safe to leave in production. A method that is not being watched checks a cache in memory and returns, without reading the database or capturing a call stack. Performance Scout stays installed and is switched on for the processes, companies and period you are investigating.

Choose what to watch. Register the batch jobs, service operations, reports, classes and table methods you care about, and set a threshold for a run that is too slow. Batch jobs, service operations and reports are watched through the standard frameworks, without changing standard code.

Let slow runs find their own cause. When a watched process exceeds its threshold, Performance Scout logs the methods it calls for a few rounds on its own, ranked by the time they took, and dismisses them again afterwards. Thresholds can be calculated from the measured history instead of guessed.

Read the results where you work. Every monitored run is recorded with its duration, the time spent in its own code, the user, the company and the full call stack. Follow one request end to end, see who changed what in the change log, open the embedded Power BI report, or read the log through a data entity. A trace of a slow call can be captured for the Trace parser, and every run can be sent to Application Insights.

Know your database. The database analytics module collects SQL Server index statistics on a schedule and shows unused, missing and expensive indexes in inquiries and an embedded report, from inside Dynamics 365.

What you get

  • A cockpit to register and activate the objects to watch, per company and period
  • Thresholds, automatic escalation to the methods a slow process calls, thresholds from history
  • A performance log with call stacks and traces, a call chains inquiry and a change log
  • An embedded Power BI report, a data entity and Application Insights integration
  • Database analytics with index statistics, inquiries and a database stats report

Requirements. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance or Supply Chain Management, version 10.0.44 or later. The package and the license file are supplied by Ryse Technologies and deployed through Lifecycle Services or your release pipeline. Contact us for a demonstration and a license.
