DeepL MCP
by DeepL
Translate text and documents in 100+ languages, with your glossaries applied.
DeepL brings professional-grade translation into Microsoft 365 Copilot. Translate text and entire documents across 100+ languages, control formality and tone, and rephrase or correct your writing — all from chat.
WHAT IT DOES
• Text translation with automatic language detection, formality control, and your organization's glossaries, style rules, and custom instructions applied on every job
• Full document translation with formatting preserved: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, HTML, plain text, SRT subtitles, and XLIFF — upload, track status, and download the translated file
• Writing help: rephrase with tone and style options, correct grammar and typos
• Discovery of the languages, glossaries, and style rules configured in your DeepL account
WHY DEEPL
Your organization's translation assets (glossaries, style rules, custom instructions) are maintained by your teams in your DeepL account and enforced deterministically by the DeepL engine — so what you produce in Copilot is consistent with your company's localization output. DeepL is the approved translation vendor for many enterprises: no training on customer data, EU data residency, DPAs available.
REQUIREMENTS
To use this app you need an active seat-based DeepL subscription (Pro, Business, or Team). Users sign in once with their DeepL account (OAuth) — no API keys to copy.
LIMITATIONS
• The agent works in chat: it does not read or edit the currently open document; attach or paste content instead
• Document translation returns a translated file via a download link
• Glossary and style-rule management (create/edit) happens in the DeepL web app; the agent applies them
